i really, really want to go to a festival in delaware this summer (yes, posty is a headliner). so, i bought a ticket without real plans. i wanted to make a vlog, so i started taking short videos (& i hope you like the finished product). this past summer i wanted to go to europe, so i started looking up cool spots to visit and booked an airbbnb. having a place to stay made it real. made it doable. i knew that if i started, that i’d be more likely to do it.
it’s often that first step. it sets our idea in motion and will often gain momentum. its like writing the title on a paper. once its written, you wont stop writing, but the challenge is the initial action. if you do something, anything, you’re more likely to make it happen.
think of something you really want to do. it can be anything. now, grab your phone or computer and start searching. look up photography classes in your area, or links to ‘how to publish your poetry.’ grab your phone and call the nearest krav maga center and book a lesson, if that’s something you’ve always wanted to try. text that old friend you’ve been meaning to contact and get a date set on the calendar. call your local small business association and ask about becoming an entrepreneur. if weight loss is your goal, swap that daily donut for a banana. it’s the small steps that increase the odds that you’ll succeed.
