i am. true to myself

the other day, tinder sent me an email asking if i would promote their app in exchange for $350. one simple post would buy me over 70 lattes! & as crazy as it sounds, i just couldn’t bring myself to do it. not that there’s anything wrong with tinder, it just ain’t for me.

as many of you know, promotion for $ and free stuff is common on insta. lots of companies have reached out to me to post pictures using their products & as tempting as it is to take all of the free stuff offered, i refuse to promote anything that i won’t actually use. like, i didn’t pay for the mattress in this picture, but i love it! it’s so flipping comfy, trust. (& sooo much better than the crappy dorm mattresses). it’s a beautiful thing.

while i do make a bit of money on this account, making bank has never been nor ever will be the goal. in fact, i tell every company that i work with that i won’t shape my captions around their product & will only promote it if it’s something that i like & think you might, too.

i think that it’s so important that we stay true to ourselves. whether it’s on instagram or irl, every time we compromise our values, we lose a little piece of ourselves. the tinder offer was quite tempting. but then i considered the cost? this blog is all about honesty & y’all have been so kind to listen to my conflicts and Ls and have even shared your own stories. i honestly feel a strong connection with a lot of you. as if we’re all in this together. (try reading that without singing, i dare you). so despite the dollar sign attached to each offer, the cost of selling out is far too great.

side note: honestly, i actually do really love this mattress & Lull said that i could offer you guys $150 off of your purchase by using this link: lull.com/isabella
