with a brother who is getting ready to apply to college, and daily dms asking me how to get in to michigan, i thought it would be an appropriate time to share the little that i know. while no one quite knows exactly what admissions counselors are looking for, here is a little recipe to guide you:
so catch me in the kitchen, wrist twistin’ like a stir fry to cook up this recipe for success
ingredients:
36 tbsp act*
7 tsp ap
4 cups gpa
6 cups extracurriculars
a pinch of sanity
10 cups of personality
3 tsp recommendations
8 tbsp essays
*can replace with 1600 tsp sat
steps:
1.combine act, ap, and gpa into a large mixing bowl
2.in another bowl sift together extracurriculars and a pinch of sanity
3.beat together personality, recommendations and essays
4.cook for 12-18 years on high
*i didn’t have the right amount of each ingredient, but was still able to succeed
& bam! there you have it!
im jk though, guys. this is what it always seems like as a high schooler. but you might be surprised by the schools you can get into with far from perfect scores (i know this from personal experience). if you really want to know the secret to admission and what i did to get in, i’ll be posting a video on youtube sometime this week (link in bio).
