some of you asked me about date ideas. & let me tell you…not all dates are created equal.
if it’s one of your first dates, the best idea is to start with something super simple, yet memorable! the main goal is to talk face to face after all.
dream dates:
1.exploring a small town-this is one of my coworkers ideal dates & i couldn’t agree more.
2.getting coffee-you just can’t go wrong with this. it’s quick & simple and you can do it whenever. (bonus points if you remember your date’s coffee order for future reference).
3.game night-tells a lot about how he/she interacts with other people & handles wins/losses.
4.hike-why waste a beautiful day? as an added bonus, you will be able to tell if he/she enjoys being active.
5.drive in movie-a more romantic option, but you cant go wrong with this one (that is, if you’ve already decided that you might like this person).
6.museum-art always gives you something to talk about (especially if there’s a lull in the conversation).
7.picnic & watch the sunset-romantic alone time without the expensive price tag. (bonus: throw on some rex orange county for added romance).
8.chill meal-i’m a sucker for a diner milkshake. i will open up, if i feel comfortable enough to put my dirty ole converse up on the booth.
9.arcade, mini-golf, amusement park-a little more expensive, but it can bring out your date’s goofy side.
now onto the types of dates i WOULDN’T recommend & why:
1.movie-you dont get the chance to talk & theres that awkward “do i hold his/her hand” thing.
2.romantic dinner-focus on getting to know someone, not what fork to use for your salad.
3.bar-if there is any chance at all that you will get drunk, dont do it. you don’t want to make a fool of yourself.
4.netflix and chill-obviously, this isn’t really a date. its a hook up.
dont forget, they are MY suggestions. i’m sure there are those who want to get all dressed up and eat a candle lit dinner, but that’s not me. to be safe, ask your date for ideas. if she hits you with the good old “i dont care,” you can always lean back on this list.
