Blogs

i am. doing me

if you have been reading my blog for a while, you most likely know that i have struggled a lot with my weight. i went from working out several times a day and counting every calorie to saying frick it and eating dessert for every meal to feeling content in my own skin. it was a long process to get to where i am today, but what i recently realized is that i am still not done.

so, i have a food blog. & i follow lots of other food and wellness bloggers. when i was at a low, i took every piece of their advice as gospel. i ate what they ate. i lived by their body loving advice. i deleted the calorie counting apps. i wanted to be as happy as they appeared to be. but somehow, i still wasn’t.

i took a step back and finally took the advice i’ve given out so many times: nothing is one size fits all. doing meditation and eating vegan might work for some people, and eating cake for breakfast might work for others. but neither work for me.

i like counting calories. it makes me feel in control. encourages me to eat healthy, without making me feel like i can’t have dessert. yet, for a lot of people, it makes them feel bad about what or how much they eat. & thats fine!!!!! do what works for YOU. with everything.

even when reading my blogs. take what you want from them (if anything), and make it fit you. don’t just do something because everyone else is doing it. because you aren’t everyone else. you’re you.
