i am. okay with this

i’m reading a book right now called “the top five regrets of the dying,” &, at one point, she writes about growing up being judged. something i’m pretty sure every person has experienced. i know i have. (that’s the whole reason i started this page).

anyway, she pointed out that everyone who was judging her, was likely unhappy with themselves or their lives. & gosh dang, that hits different.

when i was in high school i used to be really self conscious about my weight and appearance (still working on it, too). there was this one girl i hated because i was jealous of how beautiful she was, how many instagram followers she had and how every guy wanted to get with her. & i wasn’t alone. but that wasn’t the girl’s problem, it was mine.

think about it, when you are confident in yourself and pleased with your life, you probably tend to be happier. you talk about people less. you have a more positive outlook.

so, the next time you get dissed, take a deep breath and be happy that their actions are probably not about you. they are likely cruel to you because of something they believe is lacking in themselves, which has nothing to do with their distaste for you.
