i am. choosing the easiest answer

ever heard of occam’s razor? it simply states that the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one. & i live my life by this.

i’m not an over thinker. at all. so when people ask me for advice, it’s typically pretty straightforward.

i was recently dm’ed asking for some dating advice. it was pretty typical; girl matches with guy on some dating app and they go out for dinner. next thing he knows, she won’t text him back.

to me, the explanation to this is clear… she just isn’t into you. but, i know A LOT of people who would think much deeper into this.

the girl works full time and goes to school. for some odd reason she doesn’t save numbers in her phone (sounds a bit suspicious to me, but who knows). sure, she could be busy or just missed your two text messages, but it’s not likely.

& by NO means am i saying that it’s my way or the highway when it comes to explanations. i’ve had my fair share of getting screwed over because i’ve been too naive. and i can see why someone would want to come up with a reason for getting ghosted, aside from they’re just not interested. (*DON’T FORGET that just because you weren’t that person’s cup of tea, doesn’t mean you won’t be someone elses!!!) i’m just saying that maybe, just maybe, things aren’t as complicated as they seem. & although the truth freaking hurts, sometimes, you gotta face it for what it is. so instead of driving yourself crazy thinking of every other reason why someone wouldn’t text you back, maybe try to accept the one staring you right in your face.
