i am. trying to make things right

have you ever done something and thought “wow, that was a crappy thing to do!”? like, when i was in seventh grade, my friend mentioned she liked this guy & lets just say, i was “mrs. steal yo mans.” & so like any trash person would do who doesn’t want to be trash any longer, i texted her and apologized.

one thing i’ve learned growing up is that it’s never too late to say sorry. most people appreciate the apology, but once in a while someone will tell me to “frick off” (luckily my bff forgave me). while these are tough to hear, i need them to know that i am sorry. sure some people may not respond in the way that you’d like, but most will appreciate your apology and often be more than happy to rekindle a friendship.

we can all be jerks from time to time. after all, we are human. but when we do, it’s important to show respect and empathy to the people we’ve hurt. why spend one more moment as a trash person, missing a friendship or having beef? if you miss your friend because of something YOU did, apologize and move on. it’s the right thing to do.
