i am. vain
at least until the universe senses im feeling a little too proud & throws me a rejection, a brush off, a pimple. always reminding me that i’m not as fab as i think. everyone is vain from time to time. almost everyone flexes something about them they are proud of. whether its grades, money, looks, athletic ability, or knowing every word to “Rap God”. rejection is a good thing, though. it keeps us real. it may suck when it happens, but imagine feeling superior all of the time. it’s not healthy and it sure as heck isnt based on reality. its okay to be proud of ourselves and what we have accomplished, as long as we remember that someone is always going to have more, be more, achieve more. and as the Pulitzer Prize winner, Kendrick Lamar, once said “be humble”
